Technical Training & Competence Manager P/T – 2 – 3 days a week

Summary of the role

  • Following the launch of the iconsys Academy, the Technical Training and Competence Manager is a PT position, (2-3 days a week based in Telford), and is a new role to the organisation to support our culture of learning and development
  • Accountable for designing exciting content for Moodle Workplace, the company’s LMS system, to support our learning and development OnBoardConnect™ strategy, you will implement and deliver of technical learning strategies.
  • You will manage training programs and develop employee’s skills and knowledge within the organisation to future proof the business by developing the next generation of engineers
  • You will conduct assessment(s) of learning and development needs, deliver in-house training sessions and evaluate the effectiveness of the training
  • You will hold proven experience in coaching and mentoring of employees and in conducting effective learning interventions (i.e. traditional training, ‘on/off the job’ training)
  • Reporting to the Head of People and Culture

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Help managers develop their teams though technical career pathing
  • Developing and implementing learning strategies and programs
  • Assess the success of the learning and evaluate accordingly
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultant trainers
  • Track budgets and negotiate contracts

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of BEng in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mentoring, coaching and teaching skills and delivering ‘on/off the job’ training interventions
  • Subject Matter Expert in electrical control systems, (at least 10 years) with specialised experience in the field of electrical engineering – Drives systems – PLC’s, manufacturing environments and on-site work
