Welcome Zack & Jack to the iconsys apprenticeship scheme

22/09/2021

Over the years iconsys has successfully invested and implemented an electrical apprenticeship programme that runs in partnership with Telford College of Art & Technology (TCAT).The iconsys apprenticeship programme is fully backed and supported by the company, we are committed to the ongoing training, safety, and future development of every apprentice.

At the beginning of September, we welcomed two new apprentices onto the programme, Zack Guillemin and Jack Evans.

The iconsys apprenticeship programme offers a traditional in-house workshop, with time well-served working on a diverse range of manufacturing and electrical related projects, across numerous industrial sectors.  Every apprentice works alongside experienced staff, offering a “buddy” type system.  This helps the apprentice ease into their new role, the transfer and sharing of knowledge and experience, offering guidance and someone whom the apprentice can turn to when needed. The apprentice also gains hands on experience working with our manufacturing platform partners’ products, and involves the installation of their equipment.  Additionally, working and learning from our internal manufacturing team and design engineers to resolve technical issues, provide the apprentice with a solid all-round understanding of the business and the industry.

The programme also includes attending TCAT two days a week, with the course running for three years.  Once the course has been completed the apprentice will gain a recognised level 3 NVQ Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.  Apprentices are encouraged to complete a further year of studying for an HNC in Electrical Electronic Engineering.

With time invested in our apprentice programme, the scheme is carefully designed to provide individuals with an opportunity to further develop their career with iconsys. Every apprentice is given a solid foundation and a genuine opportunity to further progress, setting them up for a rewarding career at iconsys.

It is a very busy period for iconsys, apart from our apprenticeship programme we also have a number of other interesting engineering vacancies available.  To find out more visit our website at   https://www.iconsys.co.uk/careers/current-opportunities/
