Shrewsbury Krazy Races

A huge “thank you” and a great big “well done” to the iconsys rocketeers, our first ever outing at this year’s Shrewsbury Krazy Races on Sunday 29^th May at the Quarry in Shrewsbury.

This was a great iconsys team effort, with many contributing before the event with the design and build to get the Kart to the starting line, and those who helped during the race day to get the Kart down the track to the finishing line.

The idea behind the Shrewsbury Krazy Races is to bring entertainment, fun and laughter to the crowds and raise money for a charity. Each amateur Kart, races three times in a knockout style competition with the fastest 10 going through to a final race off.

At the beginning of each race, “The iconsys Rocketeers” will ‘perform’ a dance for 20 seconds to our chosen music, Out of Space by The Prodigy.

Our Kart named “AG47”, is then launched by The Rocketeers down the track to tackle the 300m course, negotiating around the chicanes and avoiding all the obstacles along the way, and hopefully avoiding the icy cold water of the River Severn at the finish line!

One of the main reasons we entered a Kart in this year’s race was to raise funds for Marie Curie UK. We are pleased to announce that raised in excess of £600.
