iconsys recommits to supporting the mental health of its workforce

24/03/2022

As part of our ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing, iconsys has signed up to the Mental Health At Work Commitment, which is a public declaration, demonstrating our commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our workforce. It provides a roadmap to achieving better mental health outcomes for our staff.

We are being supported by the Mental Health & Productivity Pilot, who are helping us to put measures in place to create a supportive environment where good mental health is promoted and encouraged. We aim to improve mental health awareness, reduce stigma and discrimination in the workplace and provide a more open and supportive culture in terms of mental health at work.

Over the next few months we will be;

* Raising awareness around mental health in the workplace, with the aim of reducing stigma and discrimination
* Providing training, resources and tools for Managers and staff to ensure they can confidently and effectively support their colleagues and teams
* Exploring key challenges and sector specific resources to offer additional support to staff

We are encouraging all staff to visit the NHS Every Mind Matters website and complete their own self-care mental health action plan to support them during this time, and to hopefully incorporate this into their own self-care routine.

Every Mind Matters offers a range of useful resources including information on signs of common mental health issues, practical self-care tips, and where to seek further support. It has a free NHS-approved online tool which will help you build a self-care action plan to deal with stress and anxiety, boost your mood, improve your sleep and help you feel more in control.

Developed with clinical and academic experts, national mental health organisations, and input from people with experience of mental ill health, the plan will show you how to build simple changes into your daily life – such as reframing unhelpful thoughts, breathing exercises and increasing physical activity.

This initiative builds on the iconsys Health Assured – ‘Employee Assistance Program’ that staff already have access to.
