Putting AI in the driving seat

A global market-leading Tier 1 automotive manufacturer completed the build and installation of a brand-new, state-of-the-art aluminium castings production factory (currently the largest in the UK).

Iconsys was commissioned to manufacture two full turn-key 6-axis robotic assembly cells, which would insert rivnuts & spacnuts into different types of casting and then verify its success via a mounted vision inspection system.

 

Our Solution

Iconsys provided two separate robot assembly cells, each for the specific product required. Each cell is capable of running its specific product and integrates seamlessly within the automated facility. We supplied a full turn-key solution and were responsible for all key stages of the project.

Iconsys also partnered with client specific rivnut, spacnut and vision inspection system equipment suppliers. Fully integrating their equipment meant one point of control for each assembly cell. We fully integrated each assembly cell into the client’s MES system, which allows real-time tracking of manufacturing progress along with live production data on the status of each part leaving the cell area.
