The challenge is on…

A core iconsys value is People, and as the national lockdown continues, and the majority of our staff are working from home, their health, happiness and well-being is of paramount importance to the company.  In support of this, all employees have been made aware of an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and Wellbeing App availability.  EAP is a 24/7 confidential employee benefit, designed to help support with any personal and professional problems.

Following a recommendation from our Culture Committee members to form a walking group, the idea being for staff members to get involved, get outside, feel motivated and exercise, all via a free walking App called Myles.

The idea was taken onboard, discussed and we now have a walking club – The iconsys Striders.

On the 2nd of February, two teams of 10 colleagues started the first challenge – The UK Coast to Coast walk from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay, 160.9 miles

To spice it up we have split up into two teams competing to be the first team to reach Robin Hood’s Bay in the quickest time.  All times and distances are recorded on Strava App which automatically updates Myles App.

We will be walking separately, in our spare time, with the collective goals to:

  • Maintain our mental and physical wellbeing
  • Increase interaction and camaraderie with colleague
  • Support health and fitness
  • Raise money for cancer research UK with iconsys pledging to donate £1 for every mile walked

The gauntlet has been thrown down and the walking boots have been laced up…
