Milan to Venice charity cycle raises £7,500

30/10/2019

Congratulations to Sally Williams in our accounts department on her amazing achievement, as she raised an incredible £7,500 for three worthy women’s charities; Breast cancer aware, Ovarian cancer and Jo’s cervical cancer trust.   Sally’s dedication and commitment to complete a gruelling cycling challenge was evident to many as it was often common to find Sally cycling into work in the morning and cycling home in the evening, a round trip of 50 miles. All her hard work and preparation is evident in the amount of money she raised.

Sally and her biking partner Louise joined up with a band of 60 women who completed a punishing cycling expedition through Northern Italy in aid of the three women’s cancer charities.  The three day challenge started in Italy’s fashion capital, Milan as the 355Km route took them along the southern edge of the Dolomites, Lake Iseo and the heavenly Lake Garda, passing through Fair Verona, the setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet as the journey finishes at the edge of mainland Venice.

Sally decided on the charity bike ride because,

I have lost some dear friends to this disease and watching many struggle through the treatment with great determination.  So I decided to challenge myself and help raise funds for the big “C” which appear to seep into so many of our lives.  It would be greatly appreciated if you felt able to support me in my mad challenge.

Well done Sally, there is still time should you wish to donate to this worthy cause – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sal-williams1
