iconsys strengthens functional safety offering with new appointment

iconsys is reinforcing its leadership in industrial safety and compliance with a major investment in its functional safety division, including a doubling of its specialist team.

The Telford-based control and automation expert has formalised a new consultative functional safety assessment service, underpinned by decades of project experience and a team certified to ISO 13849, IEC 61511 and TUV 4414/11 standards.

Targeting sectors such as automotive, aerospace, construction materials, FMCG, marine & ports, pulp & paper and energy transition, the new service helps businesses tackle compliance challenges, reduce operational risk and avoid the growing cost of workplace incidents – estimated at £1.4bn annually in the UK.

When you’re already dealing with day-to-day pressures, functional safety can feel overwhelming. Many management teams lack in-house capability to handle increasing regulation – that’s where iconsys steps in.

Leandro Gasparini, Head of Services at iconsys.

The new approach begins with a detailed machinery safety audit, followed by the proven iconsys five-step methodology. This covers assessment, framework development, safety system engineering, verification and on-site validation using tools such as SISTEMA.

iconsys’ expanded Services division now also includes formalised offerings in digitalisation, cybersecurity, sustainability and energy management – supporting clients across the entire lifecycle of their industrial assets.

“This is about complete peace of mind,” Leandro added. “We offer a single-source solution for functional safety, compliance and operational transformation – reducing downtime, improving energy efficiency and ensuring long-term performance.”

iconsys is actively growing its team, with plans to increase its workforce to 115 in the next 12 months, and is scaling up operations to support £multi-million opportunities across safety, sustainability and smart manufacturing.
