Head of Sales – Energy Transition

Summary of Role:

  • As Head of Sales – Energy Transition you will play a major role in supporting the business in securing projects with a particular focus on Energy Transition and its associated sub sectors to help deliver our path for profitable growth
  • Reporting to the Group Sales Director

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and develop the iconsys business within the Energy Transition sector
  • Business development, account leadership and solution delivery across the Energy Transition sector and develop in-depth solutions that enact long-term success for our customers
  • Focus will be but not limited to CO2 capture, CO2 Transportation and CO2 Storage, Hydrogen Production, Hydrogen Transportation and storage, Energy from Waste, Wind, SAF, Fuel switching and Nuclear SMRs whilst in parallel utilise your own knowledge of the market to promote iconsys in complimentary subsectors
  • Provide a funnel of all opportunities whilst focussing on immediate and funded projects
  • Draw on your unique perspectives, personality, and creativity to think big about our clients’ challenges and develop creative solutions
  • Investigate and develop partners in order to maximise iconsys wallet to meet the customer challenges
  • Build and leverage client and team relationships that drive results and growth
  • Showcase yourself as an Energy Transition thought leader by developing your professional network through association memberships, speaking, and writing engagements, and community activities
  • Nurture your interests with our training programme, which can be applied to development activities and growth projects
  • Follow the workflows and sales toolsets to demonstrate progress not only within the sales team but also the wider business to ensure business buy in
  • Ensure the CRM / forecast is accurate and up to date
  • Review commercial, technical, and operational bids
  • Assist and support the Sales Applications team with the preparation of proposals and specifications, including technical, commercial and contractual aspects in accordance with the iconsys process
  • Agree, manage and develop a “Go To Market” strategy with the Senior Management Team to execute the plan by delivering high-quality, innovative added-value proposals, documents, presentations, case studies and value propositions
  • Initiate and develop a system for evaluating, selecting and prioritising business opportunities
  • Maintain the Company’s reputation as a leading-edge systems integrator and solutions provider
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of issues affecting system integrator companies and the drives, digital and automation industry within the Energy Transition sector
  • Maintain an awareness of competitor activities
  • Represent iconsys at industry events and tradeshows in order to gain new business leads and contacts
  • Comply with all Company procedures as defined in the Quality Manual, Staff Manual and Health & Safety Manual amongst others
  • Pro-active in supporting other company activities, divisions and sectors
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers, suppliers and company staff
  • Frequent travel and overnight stays, overseas travel can be expected from time to time
  • Other duties as required

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of five years’ previous experience in a similar role within the Transportation Infrastructure sector
  • A knowledge of systems integration incorporating Variable Speed Drives, PLCs, and SCADA / HMI products, Simulation, Smart solutions, Battery systems, Hybrid systems, Power management systems
  • Proven track record in selling solutions to a variety of industrial applications
  • Have established customer contacts at senior level

 

Desirable:

  • Qualified to degree level in electrical/electronic engineering

 

Special Requirements

  • Either based at home or at the office in Telford, Shropshire
  • Travel within the UK and overseas
  • Flexibility to work beyond normal hours in order to meet any required deadlines
