To produce accurate and prompt assembly of control panels.
Key responsibilities
To conduct the wiring of panels to a high quality and speed.
To hold sufficient understanding of schematic drawings to enable the wiring of control panels, being able to understand the sizing of cables, wire numbering and continuity of common supplies.
To have an up to date understanding of the manufacturing procedures, specification and preferred practices.
To build copperwork as specified by the engineer, understanding the supporting, tolerances and clearances required.
To fit components as designed by the engineer.
To do site installation and retrofits as and when required. Team leading as required.
To ensure Jobs are built efficiently, advise team members on practices that ensure higher efficiencies liaise with management to better build practises.
To ensure the jobs are built within the time constraints and advise management of the timescales that entail. Labour requirements may change according to specific job challenges.
To be proficient in the use of hand and power tools associated with building and wiring control panels.
To hold an understanding of the quality standards, health and safety requirements within the workplace and the personal responsibilities that it entails. Ensure that self and other personnel within the workplace adhere to the health and safety requirements.
To take responsibility for the allotted jobs and ensure the smooth operation of the team(s) which are working on them.
To ensure the jobs are built within the time constraints.
To share responsibility for opening and closing of premises.
To keep the engineer(s) aware of any change to drawing or layout no matter how small.
To inform management of any concerns or problems.
To inform management of timescale and potential lateness.
To police quality and standards
To liaise with the engineer regarding any shortages or drawing errors keeping management informed.
To ensure that the workshop is kept tidy and all rules are adhered to.
To take ownership of a designated area within the workshop to ensure that it is kept tidy.
To keep up to date manufacturing-defect list with every fault or change registered; and to ensure that the engineer signs off to ensure that he is aware.
To understand the procedures and requirements of our inhouse ERP software and occasionally have the ability to cover stores activities to include, booking in, job allocation, iconnect, surplus part awareness, consumable parts and other associated activities.
To maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers and company personnel.
To conduct ad hoc projects and tasks.
Knowledge, Skills and experience / Personal Qualities
To hold a relevant qualification with experience for 5 or more years
To be deadline orientated
To be trustworthy, punctual and reliable
To have excellent customer facing skills
To be capable of effective liaison with customers and iconsys personnel at all levels
To have a ‘can do’, ‘will do’ attitude to learning and work
To hold physical stamina as will be standing most of the working day
To hold H&S awareness for environment and in using workshop tools and equipment
